What data we collect, and why
- Contact, information, visit, valuation and satisfaction-survey forms: name, e-mail, phone, message and boat details. Purpose: answering and following up your request (for instance telling you about a boat matching your search); legal basis: pre-contractual steps and legitimate interest. Retention: 3 years from your last contact. Fields marked with an asterisk are needed to handle the request.
- Newsletter: e-mail and language. Purpose: informing you about new boats and price drops; legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link. Sent through Mailjet SAS (Paris), our processor. Retention: until you unsubscribe, and at most 3 years after your last interaction.
- Customer account: e-mail, hashed password, favourites and alerts. Purpose: saving your selection and alerts; legal basis: performance of the service. Retention: while the account is active; you can ask for deletion at any time.
- Boat reservation with deposit: identity, contact details and amount. Legal basis: performance of the contract and legal accounting obligation. Payment is processed by Lyra Network SAS (PayZen, Labège), our processor; we store no card data. Retention: for the duration of the contract, then archived for 10 years from the end of the financial year (accounting and tax obligations).
- Analytics: visit statistics via Google Analytics, loaded by Google Tag Manager only after your consent in the cookie banner.
Who receives your data
The H2O team and our technical providers, strictly for the purposes above: OVH (hosting, France), Mailjet (e-mails), Lyra Network / PayZen (payment), Google (statistics, with your consent). Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Ltd; data may be transferred to the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. All our other providers process your data within the European Union. We never sell or rent your data.
Cookies
The site uses cookies needed for it to work (session, login, boat selection) and, with your consent, analytics cookies. Analytics tools are loaded only after your consent. Your choice is stored for 6 months; statistics are kept for 14 months at most. You can change your choice at any time via the “Manage cookies” link at the bottom of the page.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, hosted in France by OVH, and access to data is restricted to the people who need it to handle your request.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability. To exercise it: h2o@h2ofrance.com or by post to the address above. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, CNIL (www.cnil.fr), or with the supervisory authority of your country of residence.
Right to object: you may object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on our legitimate interest, and without giving reasons to any direct marketing. You may also withdraw any consent you have given (newsletter, cookies) at any time, without affecting prior processing.
