This 39.14 m by 5.10 m barge was built in 1914 at the Baasrode shipyard in Belgium and converted into a home in 2004. Ready to cruise, she navigates inland waterways with a draught of 1.30 m and an air draught of 3.80 m; her Union certificate is valid until 18 April 2034. She is moored at the Bassin Rond in Estrun, near Cambrai.
The hold has been fitted out as living space along its entire length. The solid oak floor rests on a framework of steel angles that carries cables and pipes; the sides and ceiling are insulated with 6 cm of sprayed fire-retardant foam, and the inside of the hull is lined with meranti. Opening brass portholes in the sides and windows in the coaming bring light inside. A large living room, with a raised lounge and a dining area, leads to the solid ash kitchen-bar, fitted with a ceramic cooker, an oven, an extractor hood and a Miele fridge-freezer, with a connection for a dishwasher. Three bedrooms of 20, 16 and 12 m² open onto a corridor with a cupboard. Of the two bathrooms, one is in teak, with shower, washbasin and toilet, the other in oak, with bath, washbasin, bidet, toilet and space for a washing machine and tumble dryer. Forward is a crew cabin in mahogany; aft, the teak wheelhouse and a mahogany cabin with two beds, both restored, making five cabins in all. A 7 m by 4 m terrace gives direct access below. The whole boat has central heating with thermostatic valves, supplied by a Chappée oil-fired boiler that also provides hot water.
The 121 kW (165 hp) General Motors 6-71 engine, keel cooled, drives a three-blade propeller through a Twin Disc gearbox; the rudder is electrically controlled. A spare propeller, cylinder head, starter motor and injection pump are included. For self-sufficiency, the boat has a soundproofed 15 kW Hatz generator delivering 220 and 380 V, which can be controlled from three places on board, a 540 Ah 24 V battery bank, a 3,000 W Mastervolt combined charger-inverter and an auxiliary Honda diesel engine. The tanks hold 2,000 litres of engine diesel, 5,000 litres of heating oil, 1,000 litres of drinking water, with filtration, and 1,500 litres of grey and black water, with a pump-out. The wheelhouse has a VHF, AIS, autopilot, compass and rudder indicator. Two bow anchors and one stern anchor on mechanical winches, a rowing boat and an aluminium gangway complete the equipment.
The hull has a steel double bottom. In 2024 an out-of-water survey led to the renewal of the Union certificate; the yard then fitted 15 anodes, doubling plates on the aft bottom and 24 m of new plating on each side at the waterline, and tarred the underwater hull.
The boat is Belgian-flagged, VAT paid. The washing machine and tumble dryer are not included in the sale. Viewings take place in Estrun.
